Tor directs Internet traffic through a free, worldwide, volunteer network consisting of more than seven thousand relays to conceal a user's location and usage from anyone conducting network surveillance or traffic analysis. The name is derived from an acronym for the original software project name "The Onion Router". Tor is free software for enabling anonymous communication. I did write a piece on CT relating to turning a micro router in to a portable TOR router. If you really are concerned relating to browsing you can always utilize TOR. That said I have read that ISP's now can inject Ads while you surf the web on your browser. Here use built in features for Ad stuff (PFSense) and browsers. All you need is a PC / VM with two network interfaces on it.
